Sarah Covington founded Underscore _Law to bring operator-level experience to professional practice ownership.
Sarah's practice focuses on ownership structures for law firms and healthcare entities, ABS formation, MSO-PC structuring, entity compliance, and PC Partnership Programs where she serves as the "friendly PC owner" for MSO-PC structures.
Sarah’s legal career began at a top 20 law firm in the IP & AI Practice Groups. She has also authored a legal textbook, drafted and enacted legislation in South Dakota protecting the rights of individuals with disabilities, and is licensed in both South Dakota and Arizona.
Prior to going to Law School, Sarah held executive positions at several large health systems across the country, primarily responsible for revenue cycle and clinical operations. She was also a founding member of a healthcare technology company, where she served as it’s Chief Operating Officer.
Sarah also serves as adjunct faculty at NAU teaching undergraduate healthcare law and MBA courses. Sarah also serves as a Bar Commissioner for the State of South Dakota.
Sarah holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Dayton School of Law, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Care Administration/Management from Harding University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Law (LLM) in Transnational Law at the University of Dayton School of Law.
Covington has received several honors, including being named a Rising Star by the South Dakota Bar Association in 2022.
